Effects of Student Mathematics Diaries on Achievement, Motivation and Metacognitive Awareness: Mixed Methods Design

The aim of this study is to investigate the effects mathematics (maths) diaries on academic achievement, metacognitive awareness and motivation students in a lesson. case was conducted with qualitative, quasi-experimental design quantitative, embedded multiple-case as mixed research model. sample quantitative part consisted 32 4th grade students, 16 whom were experimental group control group. participants qualitative from where maths used. data collection instruments used Perimeter Measurement Achievement Test for primary school Mathematics Motivation Scale Metacognitive Awareness Scale. students' structured collect data.
 obtained analysed using One-Way ANCOVA Paired Samples t-test, while thoroughly content analysis. As result one-way analysis covariance, statistically significant differences found between adjusted posttest means groups, which pretest scores student motivation. In dimension study, positive improvements observed beginning end implementation process, revealed by their diaries.
